One Last Easter Card

Today's Easter Card is a fun one.  It went to my two year old nephew, so it had to be bright and fun to look at.  I think I accomplished that with this card.
Once again, I completely forgot where I got the digistamp from, but I colored him with my Bic Mark It Markers.  I used my Diamond Glaze to cover the egg, and of course, I had to use Stickles.  The solid paper is Bazzill, the patterned paper is from a DCWV Summer Small Sized Mat Stack.  The buttons are from Walmart's craft section.  Since I don't have many options for supply stores around me, I decided to browse Walmart.  I got a few decent sized bags of buttons for $1.98 each.  I didn't think that was too bad.  I finished off the card with some silver thread, and there you go.

I ended up coming across a few more challenges that this card works for.  They are
For Fun Challenges  -  Easter
Sentimental Sundays  -  Challenge #51 - Celebrate Spring/Easter
Crafty Catz Weekly Challange  -  Challenge #79 - Children's Card
Paper Play Challenge  -  '11 - Week 16 - Easter Time

Thanks for looking!
Have a blessed Easter!!!

Easter Card 2.0

Today's card is my second Easter Card, and I had a blast.  If I have not mentioned before -- I love to color.  Thus, I am appreciating more and more the entire digi stamp revolution!  The image on today's card is from Bugaboo Stamps, and I will be entering it in their Catch the Bug Easter Challenge.

Again, everything about this card is from my scrap supply.  The base is a piece of Bazzill, and that is really all I know for sure.  The circle was already cut, and I thought it would work perfectly fine just how it was.  I decided to color the stamp with my CM and Bic Permanent Markers.  I guess at some point I will have to invest in some decent markers so that not to have the lines from coloring.  I kind of went crazy with the Stickles, and I used a piece of ribbon I have probably owned longer than I have had kids.  I stamped my sentiment with a $1 stamp from Micheal's.

Okay, don't laugh, but I just realized I am probably not thinking clearly when I color my stamps.   I usually color first then try to match up my papers after, which is kind of difficult.  Maybe I should try to find a piece of patterned paper I want to use and make that my inspiration when I color.  Just sorta thinking out loud.  Makes more sense though, right?

Here are some challenges I am going to enter this card into if you want to check them out.

Loads of First!

Okay, so I have to admit I am pretty excited about today's card.  This card will actually be a first for me in many ways.
1.  It is the first time I have entered a sketch challenge - ever.  It maybe very well be the first time I have ever used a sketch for a card to begin with.  Let me say, using the sketch cut the time it takes me to make a card in thirds.  I am entering the card in this week challenge at CPS.
2.  It is the first time I have colored a Kich N Blues digi, as well.  So, I thought I would enter the card in their spring challenge, as well.  I follow the site very regularly because one of my sweet friends is a Design Team member.   Sonya has amazing talent, and I want to be her when I grow up.  See for yourself here.
3.  I am also going to use this card in the Digital Tuesday Challenge.  The requirement is to use a female image on your project.  What a cooler female than Kich, right?
Ready to see the card now...
I used kraft card stock and pieces of pink and blue scraps.  The pattern paper is from a K&C Company Designer Mat Pad.  I used some Cat's Eye Ink, Crayola Colored Pencils, a few flowers and brads.

Hope You Enjoyed It!

Easter Card

Today I am posting a very simple Easter Card.  I used two awesome free digistamps.  Unfortunately, I do not remember where either came from.  I will have to get better at tracking where I get each stamp from.  The card is very simple because it was more about trying out some new things with the digistamp.  I have really been focusing on find the right tools to color, shade and blend with.  Like I said in another posting, I am trying to figure some things out about what produces the best blended look.  I have tried several new items, and I will be sharing those with you soon.

So, here is the card...
I used a piece of Brown Bazzill for the base, and I actually cute down a 12x12 piece of patterned paper for the second layer.  Again,  I have no idea about who or where the paper is from.  I'll admit my supply of patterned paper is a little over the top.  I used my Creative Memories deco corner punch on the imagine, which I colored using Crayola Colored Pencil.  I blended them with Odorless Blending Medium and stumps.  Not the best results, but not terrible either.   I do have to admit that I officially have no luck with Gamsol.  I tried that first.  I have used it with Primsa, Crayola, and a woodless colored pencil and I have had not gotten the results like I wanted.  The ticket was pop dotted just to give the card something.
Thanks for looking and have a great Saturday!
